Mexico meets puerto ric0

Our story starts in Austin Texas where I met my Puerto Rican wife and slowly introduced her to authentic Mexican cuisine. Being Puerto Rican, where most people can’t even handle pepper, she was hesitant to try my mom’s home cooked salsas. Upon tasting them, all the fear dissipated and instead a desire to deep dive into Mexican cuisine developed. We developed an addiction and every Friday we made it a habit to enjoy Mexican food and margaritas. Over the years we dreamed and debated the idea of opening our own Mexican restaurant. It all changed in September 2017 when Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico and we made a life changing decision to relocate and help with the reconstruction. Like any addiction, we started having some serious Mexican food withdrawal symptoms and we had to resort to pulling recipes, which I had not tried since my last visit to Mexico in 2005, from my family back home. We created our own habit and started hosting taco nights in our home and much to my surprise, our family went nuts over the flavors. That was the last little nudge we needed and the rest is history….
